The Vocational Education Centre JEDU is the most important organizer of secondary vocational education in Oulu Southern region. The Vocational Education Centre JEDU provides high-quality vocational training and education within over 50 qualifications.

JEDU works closely with companies operating in the region through comprehensive recruiting- and educational services. This means companies investing in the region have a strong partner in both setting up the recruiting process and further educating their workforce. JEDU also runs innovation and education programs regarding green energy, electric vehicles & trucks and immediate supervisor training - to name a few.

Centria is a University of Applied Sciences of about 4400 students and 340 employees, producing and offering knowledge with a big heart. Centria works in close collaboration with regional companies and goes over 120 different development projects with the regions operators. Centria's student pool is both talented and international: 20% of all the students are from abroad. This adds to Centria's pull as a dynamic, international and versatile operator.

Centria's RDI activities are regionally significant and impactful. In the operating area, industrial production and exports per person are among the highest in Finland. Some of the key areas include mechanical wood processing in Ylivieska, with state of the art laboratory settings for product development and testing.
